1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in or what your preferences are.
This policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage and session storage.
2. Cookies and browser storage we use
MyChessPlace uses cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, user preferences, and features chosen by the user.
We do not currently use advertising cookies, marketing cookies, profiling cookies, non-essential analytics cookies, or session-replay tools. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, and we do not sell cookie data to advertisers.
Some third-party services used to deliver security, video, fonts, icons, stylesheets, images, or other website assets may receive normal network-request information such as your IP address and browser/device information when your browser connects to them.

Vimeo video embeds are configured with dnt=1 where supported. We have not identified Vimeo marketing cookies in the current configuration.
Local storage
MyChessPlace currently uses localStorage and has not identified any use of sessionStorage.

These local-storage items do not have an automatic expiry. They are replaced or removed through the relevant platform functionality or by the user clearing browser storage.
4. Analytics
We do not currently use any analytics tools on MyChessPlace.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Google Ads tracking, Hotjar, LogRocket, or session replay tools.
We may use ordinary server and security logs where necessary to operate, secure, debug, and protect the platform.
If we introduce optional analytics in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and request consent where required by law.
5. Third-party services and external assets
When certain pages load, your browser may connect directly to external providers that help us deliver security, fonts, icons, stylesheets, images, chess-piece assets, or video.

Vimeo is contacted when a page containing the embedded player loads. Our current Vimeo embeds use dnt=1 where supported to reduce tracking.
Checkout and payment processing are handled by the payment provider identified in the purchase flow. That provider may set its own strictly necessary checkout, security, or fraud-prevention cookies or use similar technologies under its own privacy and cookie notices.
6. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from logging in or using the platform properly. Blocking third-party cookies may prevent some embedded services or checkout functionality from working correctly.
7. Future changes to cookies
If we add optional analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and request your consent before placing any non-essential cookie or storing any non-essential information on your device where required by law.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may notify users where appropriate.
